Hi Charbax,If you really want to make an unbiased test then I feel you should not oblige people to do a call using their left hand... I use my Nokia with my right hand.Cheers, Alban

Hello, I tend to agree. I would never have even thought about taking money from my parents wallet. Change and cards were available to me and I have had the code when helped my Mum at the till. It is not because it is possible that it shall be done.

Re: ARM Powered Mobile Payments 5 months ago
Hi David,TrustZone could be called a special environment to which access is regulated. As this is embedded, in order to clone it you would need to reverse engineer at the die level = deprocess the chip. This is not a matter of obscurity, but this way any keylogger or trojan would be useless and that is the point: working in a safe known environment.Cheers, Alban.

Re: I uploaded 72 videos from CES 2010 7 months ago
Well, I'm more coming from an embedded background and microcontrollers rather than full blown computers and processors. I understand CeBIT might be more impressive... It's a different audience with different products and it would depend on your interest, I feel.I enjoy the very high constraints that the embedded applications have. That is for the same reason that I like Automotive, because they want Zero defect!

Hi Desire, I would like to congratulate you for this article...As opposed to all others I have looked at in the last 24h, you actually stand back and put your finger on the nonsense that has been published on some other sources.I am delighted to see that speculations do NOT have their place here and that your reflection shows you have knowledge of the market and its history.Thank You,AlbanAlban

Re: Apple A4 Is An ARM System-on-a-Chip 7 months ago
Hello, I am sorry but the information in this article are not totally exact. Among others, Snapdragon is not a Cortex-A9. Both processors are based on the same architecture called ARMv7. However what the licensee does with an architecture license makes it a different processor.Cheers, Alban

Why I love my E71 and the S60 Platform 7 months ago
Simon,The second post I read from you and I love as it as much as the first! :)I hesitate between the E71 and N900... E71 seems really good but is it much better than the E63 and worth that much more money!?You use WDS with WEP or WPA? I don't think I've got WPA enabled router for WDS and not too keen on WEP... especially when you see you can break it in seconds on a N770 :sCheers, Albanhttp://twitter.com/AlbanRamponhttp ://twitter.com/ARMCommunityRead more comments by Alban Rampon

Dear Anonymous,I think it is quite a strong statement you are making…Even if I could be tagged as being partial to ARM, you have to admit that Intel is selling quite a quantity of these processors and they are likely to have brought quite a few bucks to them!IMHO both ARM and Intel are looking at each other very closely. Companies background is fondamentally different and, now, their products attack similar markets...Balancing power and performance is not an easy game if you wish to satisfy the consumer. And you need the technology to do so ;)2010 should be interesting. With products based on Cortex-A9, we will see where parties stand.Kindly, AlbanRead more comments by Alban Rampon

Hello, like the previous ones, I liked the article. The only point I thought was missing was the Parrot AR.Drone which did a lot of noise at CES and was qualified as the best iPhone App ever.Full of electronics I would call that an expensive but impressive gadget which got enough attention to actually get Parrot.com getting more web servers as the current ones went down with the traffic!Cheers, Alban

Re: http://www.itproportal.com/portal/news/article/2010/1/10/ces-2010-traditional-wintel-alliance-deep-deep-trouble/3/ 7 months ago
Interesting reading Scott. It is true that the CES2010 announcement of the first LG on Intel is not Windows based and that this year was a great success for ARM which does not run Win7 either... Still, even if the chip maker is promoting its own mobile OS, I think we could get some surprises at the Mobile World Conference.MWC would be more focused on this domain than CES is.Nevertheless, CES2010 brought some very exciting prototypes and the competition we are going to have this year should bring us even sweeter products :)Thank you for your article I now always read with interest.Cheers, Alban

Well, I found my Truecrypt bootloader rescue disk and could start Win7 again...Now I'm wondering if I go through the bother of looking at how to combine Grub and Truecrypt or if I just decrypt my hard drive. My Linux is quite rusty and spend a lot of time outside my home, so I might chose an easy option :p

Not sure I understand you here. Haven't you seen the article about the Pegatron smartbook by Desire as well?http://www.itproportal.com/portal/reviews/article/2009/8/19/uk-exclusive-preview-pink-pegatron-smartbook/As there are ODM, they won't sell it but their project is quite advanced.I don't think there is a conspiracy :)

Hello Desire,I think that with a price like this, people will certainly be attracted to it. Then, we have to see when it will be available and what the base price does include. If you hear more about the fruit tablet, please let us know.Regards, Alban

Re: http://www.itproportal.com/portal/news/article/2010/1/5/would-anyone-care-superphone-googles-platform-play-nexus-one/ 7 months ago
Hello Scott,I am starting to get worried with yet a new category name.We already have enough words to confuse even specialists...This device could certainly be considered as a smartphone: cars also evolved and became smarter, we still call them cars.Desktop, Laptop, Netbook, Smartbook, Smartphone, palmtop, Feature phone, phone <- a "super" phone seems worse to me than a "smart" phone.Alban

May be he is using Tor, like in China to stay anonymous on the Internet and pass the Great Firewall. In that case, not easy to trace back. He expected every policemen to know his face?! Well, not popular enough yet. "Soon in a jail near you" ;)

Hi Desire, It started with Palms a couple of years ago. Why do they need £300/ea apparatus? Because there is no other way to check someone's identification. Having this smartphone would save me the time to go to the station for an id check as you mention. Black and other berries can be wiped remotely, removing all content of the device. Having said this, the device is only used to query remote database. Cheers, Alban
